40th Wedding Anniversary! {Ruby}

I recently had the pleasure of creating this two tiered 'shabby chic' style cake for my very good friend Deanne.  She hosted a fabulous afternoon tea to celebrate her parents 40th Wedding Anniversay, the weather was absolutely perfect and she did a great job putting it all together.

Inside was red velvet cake, which I thought would be perfect for a 'ruby' anniversary {it turned out pretty close to the same colour as the ribbons} and the top tier was chocolate mud cake.

I really underestimated how long the ruffles on the top tier would take me to do, totally worth it though I was very happy with the end result! and it was very well received :)
