Construction Party! {part two}

Here is William's party table loaded up with all his favourite things to eat!  After all the photo's I took on the day I never got one of this table with everything on it!! So this photo is courtesy of my sister in law, thanks Melissa!  If you missed my previous post with pictures of William's construction cake you can see it HERE!

These balloons were great fun for the kids, they came with 50 balloons, instructions and a pump! The hard hat we already had and added a number 4 to it.

We had tin buckets for chocolates and little scoops attached with rope for digging them out, these marshmallows I stuck onto a lollipop stick and dipped in melted chocolate...they look cute with hundreds & thousands on top but William doesn't like them so these ones stayed plain!

Fresh Queensland strawberries, these didn't last long! and another favourite...watermelon

If you missed my previous post with William's construction birthday cake you can see it HERE

And finally a construction box for all the kids, filled with lollies and other goodies to take home!

Where did you get that?
The custom bunting/banner, signs, food labels and gumball bag toppers were designed and made by me.
The orange safety gale on the front of the table came from bunnings, you can buy by the metre for around $5.
The plastic plates, {melon martini} cups, straws, tin buckets and balloon kits all came from the reject shop for under $3 a piece. Scoops I already had but are originally from tupperware.
The buckets and riverstones  used to hold the balloons on sticks I already had but you could get these at the hardware or dollarstore.
The construction favour boxes came from ebay store cupcakealicious for $1.70each.
Please email me if there is anything missing that you would like to know.

{William's 4th Birthday} Construction Party!

We celebrated my sons fourth birthday yesterday with a construction themed party.  He had a two tiered chocolate mud cake topped with a dozer and a little bobcat, I used my silver rainbow dust on his name and the 4 and I used chocolate fondant for the bricks and William's favourite edible rocks {chocolate stones}.

The cake board is covered in black fondant and trimmed with textured ribbon.

I made a bunting to go above the table,

and here is a half finished table, I will post the completed dessert table and details of what I put on it when I find a bit of spare time in the next day or two! William had a great day, the best part for me was seeing his happy, excited little face when he saw his cake!

Jungle Cupcake Tower {Archer}

Here is the jungle themed cupcake tower I delivered over the weekend for a combined first birthday and baptism.  It included 36 butter cupcakes with vanilla cream icing and an 8 inch cutting cake for the baptism which was chocolate mud.

I used chocolate coloured liners and personalised some of the toppers with a birthday message,  I think a mixture of at least three different designs looks better than the same toppers on all the cupcakes don't you?

I used a little bit of rainbow dust {edible glitter} on these but it's hard to see in my photos!

Thanks for looking! {Don't be shy...leave me a comment!!}

What I'm working on...{jungle cupcake toppers}

One of the things I'm working on this weekend is a cupcake tower with a cutting cake for a combined first birthday and baptism.  This is the cute paper they used for the invitations they made and I was given this one to use as inspiration for the cupcake tower design....

I was asked to do cupcakes for the birthday and the little cutting cake for the baptism,
so here are the toppers I made to go on the cupcakes keeping in with similar colours and jungle
theme....I will post some more on this one next week!

Toy Story Birthday Cake {Buzz and Woody}

This chocolate mud cake was made for a little Toy Story fan turning three!  I took inspiration for the design from the box the cake toppers were packaged in,  I opted for plastic toppers for two reasons 1. I wasn't confident I could get the characters faces looking right! and 2. The birthday boy gets to keep the toy figurines to play with after the cake is eaten!  The rest of the decorations are all made of fondant icing.

There are so many characters in the latest Toy Story movies but I thought most little boys (like mine) would be into Woody...

and of course Buzz Lightyear!

Junior Dragster Birthday Cake

This cake was made for my cousin's 14th birthday on the weekend, the dragster is an icing version of his very own racing car.  Inside is white chocolate mud cake, covered in fondant icing, the car is also fondant which I attempted to copy from the photo below that his Mum supplied me with! I freehand painted the flames on in silver, the pattern was a bit tricky to get exactly the same! Matt liked it so I was happy with that.

{Photo supplied}

I put some fondant circle cutouts around the cake in a wave pattern
 and a piece of black ribbon to finish it off.

Dorothy the Dinosaur Cupcake Tower

I was so busy this past weekend I didn't manage to get any cake photos that I was happy with, I liked this one because it shows up a little bit of the sparkle on the stepping stones.

Here is the completed tower, the flavour for these were butter cake and vanilla cream icing with fondant accents. You can just make out the woodgrain on the picket fence if you look closely!  I will have to work on my photography skills I think!!
